I’ve adored this bookshop for years… Berkelouw Books. I only knew about the Leichardt shop for ages, but realised recently that they have a couple of others too.
It turns out they have a farm "barn"/property in Berrima, which is roughly half way from Sydney to Canberra along the freeway.
In the Berrima shop they have a Rare Books shop front as well, but it’s only open during business hours on weekdays (darn!).
Still, they have books from 500 years old! Wow.. I could lose some serious time and money out there!!
If you ever go, please come back and leave a comment about what you thought of the place. Sounds like it’s well worth the detour off the freeway if you’re in transit between Canberra and Sydney.
