From the bots over at ziff-davis (zdnet) comes this article on MS Vista being unable to cope with copying 16,000+ files. Naturally, I copy 16k worth of files on a routine basis. Not.
Okay, so the operating system should deal with this scenario, I’m sure Windows XP was able to do it, but let’s face it there are bigger fish to fry in the wish list of things to be fixed in Windows Vista. Storm in a tea cup, move along..
Speaking of Microsoft, news comes that they have published an open source standard or two, specifically the Microsoft Public License (Ms-PL) and the Microsoft Reciprocal License (Ms-RL) which comes as a sort of curve ball considering Microsoft’s track record with the open source community.
I, for one, am prepared to sip the kool-aid on this one and hope that these licenses are intended to stimulate interest in producing open source solutions built on the Microsoft platform. Time will tell if I’m right or wrong.
