Welcome! It’s official, I’m finally back from a long overdue holiday.
We got in around 11 pm last night and will slowly get back up to speed in the next few days. It’s been an absolute blast being abroad once more and each time I collect new memories which (hopefully) should last a lifetime.
Now, down to business. There have been a number of developments over August which I will hope to discover and discuss as per normal here on the blog. The most obvious headliner is the RTM release of Windows version 7. I’ve been running Win 7 RC on my tablet which travelled with us on holidays and performed admirably.
Next, we see the Microsoft Australia Partner Conference this week followed by the annual TechEd.AU (which I am not attending this year due to the cost of the aforementioned holiday). It’s a shame because this year Tech Ed is on the Gold Coast which is where I presently live. In any case, I should be catching up with a bunch of former colleagues as the weeks progress.
In other news, I have a few irons in the fire, but am interested in new potential opportunities. If you have technical work (or business development) and need someone with a strong background, now is the time to get in contact! You should e-mail me at the usual address 🙂 Leave a comment if you don’t know the address.
Lastly, I am going to be thoroughly reviewing SQL Server 2008’s new features, so look out for new content which is strictly SQL based coming soon.
In gaming news, Rock Band: The Beatles is due to be released on the 09/09/09 and hopefully it will see shelves in Australia (?) otherwise I shall have to import it from the UK. Madden 2010 is also due to come out (may already have) and I might consider a purchase, depending on whether EA have fixed Franchise mode.
That’s all for now, stay tuned for more news.
Regards, R
