It’s been a very busy two days including a 24-hour travel day on Monday.
Yesterday we went to the Hawaii Volcano National Park – a 2.5 hour drive from
Kona/Keauhou Bay.
On the way we stopped off at various local attractions including black sand beach.
The highlight was by far the national park where, after dark, we hiked 2 hours over
solid lava to view the current lava flow. The return 2-hour hike and subsequent 2.5
hour drive on a quarter of a tank of fuel topped off the day. We got back to the
resort at 2:45 AM.
