Well hello, this just in from our Scottish correspondent (BBC News); apparently an auto mechanic shop in Edinburgh is being sued because employees listen to the radio while working – within earshot of customers – and thus, it is alleged that this act constitutes both a ‘public presentation’ of music and copyright infringement.
C;mon, seriously! If you’ve ever been to an auto garage, you’ll realise that it’s almost impossible to hear anything above the noise of the power equipment and engines. Secondly, how short for cash are these copyright holders? Thirdly, does that mean the auto garage can charge the radio station for the free advertising at their garage?
When will this lunacy stop?
