Tim Berners-Lee to tour Australia

Hi All,

At the end of January, 2013 the father of the World Wide Web – Tim Berners-Lee – is touring Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.  He is giving a number of free public presentations while he is in each city.

This is an excellent (and financially extremely viable) opportunity to hear from Sir Tim; and the first opportunity in 15 years to see him in person on Australian soil.

With the events of the recent ITU/WCIT conference in Dubai still lingering and the ever-increasing threats to the neutrality and control of the Internet, now has never been a better time to hear from one of the founding fathers of the web.

Amongst his many accolades and roles, Sir Tim is the director of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and a director of the World Wide Web foundation.  You can read more about him here.

You can register for free public presentations in Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra via the EventBrite website here

He is also giving the keynote at the upcoming Australian LinuxConf and you can also see him if you are registered for the Open Government mini conference.  There’s also a keynote only ticket if you are so inclined.
