It has been some time since I last looked at a new iPhone accessory, and at this stage it’s time to look at a new case. I’ve really been impressed with the lightness and durability of the advanced range of tough waterproof cases, so today we’re taking a close look at the Ghostek Atomic 2.0 iPhone 6S / 6 Waterproof Tough Case in Silver (although in truth, it is more transparent).
Attractive packaging keeps the important parts safe, minimal but effective. Unboxing at first is a little surprising with the case itself (complete with carded ‘demo’ phone) and a headphone jack adapter. It wasn’t until I carefully peeled back the case that I realized the rest of the accessories were inside the case:
Somewhat ironically, the instructions on how to properly open/close the seal on the case were located inside the case (out of the box), but it’s not rocket science. The seal is quite easy to work with, and the top layer of the case easily peels back to provide access. What I really admire in this build is the addition of an aluminium alloy casing as well as easy to use buttons and a dial for toggling sound on or off.
Now that we’ve looked at the functionality, let’s take a peek at the aesthetics. The case is a smart unit, slim profile, well designed controls and best of all non-slip grip.
Easy to hold, lightweight and best of all; the rear side is translucent so you can show off that shiny Apple logo.. or possibly an alternative..
Thanks to our friends at MobileZap, they have an exciting range of accessories for both the iPhone 6/6S and the just launched iPhone 7 – check out their range here.
